Honda Confirms New 125cc Scooter Coming in FY2024

- Honda confirms new 125cc scooter coming in FY2024
- Also plans two new motorcycles for Indian market
- New scooter could replace the current Grazia or Activa 125
Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) has revealed plans to introduce a new 125cc scooter in the market in the next financial year. The new scooter is set to be one of three new launches for the market. Speaking at the recent launch of the CB300F, Atsushi Ogata, MD and CEO of HMSI revealed plans for a new 125cc scooter for the Indian market along with two new motorcycles.
Atsushi was answering a question regarding the company’s future investments though he did not reveal any more details about the upcoming model.
Honda currently offers two 125cc scooters in the market, the Activa 125 and the Grazia 125. The new scooter could be positioned alongside the manufacturer’s existing 125cc scooters or could be a new generation model replacing one of its existing models. The new model could be a new sporty scooter to take on the likes of the TVS NTorq 125 and Avenis 125 and could replace the current Honda Grazia 125 or could be an update to the current model bringing in sportier looks and more features to make the scooter a more attractive proposition to buyers.
Honda recently teased a new scooter as well for the Indian market with the design looking quite close to the current-gen Activa. The model teased could be the new Activa 7G (Activa 110) for the Indian market which could also raise speculation that the new 125cc model due in the next financial year could be the upgraded Activa 125. The Activa is one of Honda’s best-selling models in the market and upgrades to both the 110cc and 125cc models could help further strengthen its appeal in the market.
