Ola Electric has reintroduced the Ola S1 electric scooter in the market, with prices starting at Rs. 99,999. The company had launched the S1 for the same amount in August 2021, before discontinuing it later in the year. The prices are introductory and like before, the Ola S1 will be positioned below the S1 Pro, making it a more accessible electric scooter in Ola’s portfolio. It will get a 3 kWh battery, which will give it a range of 141 km on a single charge as per ARAI standards. Ola electric says that the range is 128 km in Eco mode, 101 km in Normal mode, 90 km in Sports mode and will have a top speed of 95 kmph, making it one of the fastest scooters in its segment.
The Ola S1 is built on the same platform as the Ola S1 Pro and gets the MoveOS as well. It will support all future MoveOS upgrades, starting with MoveOS 3. The Ola S1 gets features like music playback, navigation, access to a companion app and a reverse mode as well. All these features are present on the Ola S1 Pro as well. MoveOS 3 brings more features like moods, digital key sharing, proximity unlock, improved regen, documents on your scooter and many more. The S1 electric scooter will be available in five colours which are - Coral Glam, Jet Black, Porcelain White, Liquid Silver and Neo Mint.
Interested customers can reserve the Ola S1 for Rs. 499 starting today. People who reserve the scooter between August 15 and August 31, will have an early access purchase window starting September 1, 2022, with deliveries beginning from September 7, 2022. Ola will offer multiple payment options with EMIs starting at Rs. 2,999. Ola will also have extended warranty on offer as well. The warranty can be purchased as an additional top-up by existing customers as well.
Both variants are likely to differ in performance, range, number of riding modes, and number of colours, although the basic design stays the same. The electric scooter is likely to get a smart vehicle control unit (VCU), with an octa-core processor, 3GB RAM and high-speed connectivity through 4G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
