Mahindra Scorpio And NuvoSport Recalled Over Faulty Fluid Hose

- The recall affects models produced till June 2016
- The faulty component will be replaced free of cost on the affected SUVs
- The recall is being made as a precautionary measure
Mahindra & Mahindra will be recalling certain units of the new generation Scorpio and NuvoSport SUVs to replace a faulty fluid hose in the engine compartment, the company said in a statement filed to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
While the automaker has not disclosed the number of units affected by the voluntary recall, it did state that the the new generation Scorpio and NuvoSport manufactured till June 2016 have been affected by the exercise.
Mahindra further stated that the recall is precautionary activity and will include inspection and repositioning of the fluid hose in the engine compartment. The component replacement, if required will be done free of cost, the company confirmed.
Commenting on the recall, Mahindra said, "As an endeavour to ensure a hassle free experience for its customers, the company is proactively carrying out this activity. This action is also in compliance with SIAM's voluntary code on vehicle recall."

Mahindra NuvoSport
While the new generation Mahindra Scorpio was introduced in the market in September 2014, the NuvoSport made its way to the sub-compact SUV segment earlier this year. The Scorpio though continues to be one of the bestsellers for the automaker powered by the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine tuned to produce 120bhp of power, whilst paired to manual and automatic transmissions.
As for the Mahindra NuvoSport, the heavily tweaked replacement to the Quanto draws power from a 1.5-litre diesel engine tuned to produce 100bhp of power, and comes mated to a 5-speed manual as well as an AMT unit.
