Mahindra Sees 90 Per Cent Growth In XUV300 Bookings

- The Mahindra XUV300 currently has a waiting period of up to over 12 weeks
- Out of the total booking about 48% are for the petrol XUV300
- The XUV300 is right now priced between Rs. 7.95 lakh and Rs. 13.09 lakh
Home-grown utility vehicle manufacturer, Mahindra & Mahindra, has said that the bookings for the XUV300 subcompact SUV grew 90 per cent in the second half of Financial Year 2020-2021, compared to the same period in FY2020. The information was shared by the company during an online media briefing for the announcement of its financial results for the fourth quarter of FY2021. In fact, the waiting period for the Mahindra XUV300 has now gone up to over 12 weeks, depending on the variant you choose.

In the second half of FY2021, Mahindra was receiving an average of over 6000 bookings per month for the XUV300
The Mahindra XUV300, which shares its underpinnings with the globally sold SsangYong Tivoli, was launched in India in February 2019. The SUV made the transition to the stricter BS6 emission regulations in late 2019, starting with the petrol model, while the BS6 XUV300 diesel was launched in April 2020. However, it was in the second half of FY2021 that Mahindra really witnessed a rise in demand for the XUV300, which started around the festive season.

Between October 2020 and March 2021, the company was receiving an average of over 6000 bookings per month for the XUV300. Interestingly, out of the total bookings received by the company, about 48 per cent are for the petrol XUV300, while the remaining bookings are for the diesel models, which have been Mahindra's stronger suit.
The Mahindra XUV300 is currently offered in both petrol and diesel options. The former is 1.2-litre turbo petrol that makes 108 bhp and 200 Nm of torque, while the oil burner is a 2.0-litre unit that makes 115 bhp and 300 Nm. Both come mated to a 6-speed manual and an optional 6-speed AMT unit. Mahindra offers the SUV in four key variants - W4, W6, W8 and W8(O), and it is priced between Rs. 7.95 lakh and Rs. 13.09 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
