Mercedes-Benz has added yet another AMG product in its long line of offerings. This time, the GLC coupe gets the AMG sport treatment adding it to the 43 spec AMG cars which include the C-Class and the SLC amongst others. The GLC coupe will soon make its way to India and we would not be surprised if Mercedes decides to bring this variant along with the diesel trim.
Mercedes-AMG GLC43 Coupe
The GLC43 AMG gets a 3.0-litre, twin turbo V6 engine that makes 367bhp of max power and 570Nm of peak torque. The new GLC43 engine is mated to the 9-Tronic dual clutch gearbox and the 4MATIC all-wheel drive setup.

Just like other AMG models, the SLC43 AMG also gets a drive select mode that includes Sport and Sport Plus. You could also add an electronically adjustable exhaust system that becomes louder or quieter depending on the driver. Although the GLC43 is an all wheel drive SUV, the power split is on the sportier side with 69-percent going to the rear axles and only 31-percent going to the front axles. The GLC43 also comes with air suspension as standard that lets you raise or lower the car's ride height depending on terrain and usage patterns.
Mercedes-AMG GLC43 Coupe Front and Rear
Body changes from the standard car include the AMG styling kit and larger AMG wheels amongst smaller additions like a rear diffuser. The GLC43 also gets the AMG front apron that has been finished in aluminium and a large front splitter to direct airflow. Other touches include the AMG front grille with the large and centrally mounted three-pointed star and the aluminium finish on the horizontal slat. You also get a set of unique AMG sport wheels ranging from 20 to 22-inch and available in a range of finishes.

The GLC43 AMG Coupe will be officially showcased at the Paris Auto Show on October 6 with sales of the new car starting by the end of the year. Expect it to make it to India later this year or very early next year with a price tag of about Rs. 75 lakh which would make it great value for money. The GLC coupe will go up against the likes of the Porsche Macan, the Range Rover Evoque and the soon to be launched BMW X4.
