Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 AMG Coupe to Be Launched in India Today

First unveiled at the 2015 Detroit Motor Show, the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe is set to challenge the segment leaders BMW X6 and Audi Q5. While globally the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe is available in two option the GLE 450 AMG and the more powerful, AMG GLE 63 S Coupe, it is the former that is set to be launched in India. The initial units of the Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 AMG Coupe will reach India via CBU route, while local assembly might start later.

In terms of looks and design, the Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 AMG is essentially a crossover-coupe version of the new GLE SUV launched earlier in 2015. The front fascia sports a large grille with the large Three-Pointed-Star at the centre and MultiBeam headlamps on both sides. While the beefy bonnet does its part in bringing out the GLE Coupe's SUV DNA, the infused air dam and large air intakes adds up to give it an aggressive stance.
Towards the side you'll notice some sharp character lines large overhangs along and 21-inch AMG twin 5-spoke alloys and an option two more 22-inch multi-spoke wheels. The inside of the GLE AMG Coupe on the other hand comes with a luxuriously crafted cabin built with premium quality materials, sporty upholstery and Nappa leather multi-functional steering wheel among other features.
Under the hood the Mercedes-Benz GLE AMG 450 Coupe comes with AMG-enhanced 3.0-liter biturbo V-6 engine producing a maximum of 362bhp and a peak torque of 520 Nm. The engine comes mated to a new 9-speed automatic gearbox that offers greater range of ratios and shorter steps between gears.
