Mercedes-Benz Plant in Sindelfingen Rolls-Out 20 Millionth Vehicle

"The twenty-million cars from the Mercedes-Benz plant in Sindelfingen would stretch two and a half times around the world. For Mercedes-Benz, this jubilee is an historic number. This event follows closely after another momentous occasion; Mercedes-Benz has also reached 20 million Facebook fans which is the largest fan base the brand has even seen. The Sindelfingen plant also celebrated its centenary anniversary this year. In its early years, the plant had been used to manufacture airplanes and airplane engines. It only began producing automobiles in 1946.

Schafer then stated that he was confident of making the next 20 million cars in a much shorter period of time. Mercedes will be investing a 1.5 billion Euros in a futuristic new production facility in Sindelfingen.
