New-Gen MG Hector Teased

MG Motor India is all set to bring in the new generation of the Hector in India. How do we know this? Well, the company has teased the new 14-inch infotainment system that will be part of the package on the Hector. We expect the car to be revealed sometime in August, with the launch expected in September 2022. The Hector marked MG Motor India’s entry into the Indian market in August 2019 and since then, the company has added 3 more SUVs to it’s portfolio and 1 Electric SUV as well. The Hector launched back in 2019, was already based on the facelift of the Baojun 530, which is produced by SAIC-GM-Wuling, for global markets. A new-generation of the car then was on the cards and we will soon see it hit the Indian markets this year.
The navigation on the Hector which were earlier from Tom Tom, will be replaced with MAPPLS and MapMyIndia
Back in 2019, MG Motor India made a big statement with the Hector, as it was an SUV, which packed in features like no other car. The new generation of the Hector too is heading in this direction because it will get a bigger 14-inch infotainment system which MG Motor India will make it the largest portrait infotainment system in the country. Just to refresh your memory, the earlier one was a 10.4-inch system. The infotainment system will come with loads of features, including new apps as also ease of access to other functions like air-con, Apple Carplay, Android Auto and more. Beside this, we expect the Hector to also be available with Advanced Driver Assistance System or ADAS which will up the ante in the segment for sure.
We wait to know more about the new-gen Hector as far as styling goes and what powers it, but given the imminent launch plan for the car, we’ll have more details coming shortly. We expect a significant change in the looks and maybe a more powerful engine as well.
