Speaking about accepting pre-bookings, Vikram Pawah, President, BMW Group India said, "The revolutionary design principle of the classic Mini established the basis for maximum interior space within a minimal footprint. MINI in its new avatar offers a modern re-interpretation of creative space usage and unique riding fun that became the original in the premium small car segment. Now, with the first-ever MINI Electric, MINI once again is the frontrunner in the urban mobility segment. Charged with passion, the all-new MINI 3-door Cooper SE will be the first all-electric premium small car in India, paving the way to a sustainable yet at the same time highly emotional driving experience. With pre-booking, our customers and MINI fans have a chance to secure the purchase ahead of the launch and be the first in the country to drive the all-electric MINI."
The MINI Cooper SE differentiates itself with the blank front grille and a new 'E' badge. The model also comes with quirky alloy wheels while retaining elements like the round headlamps, Union Jack themed LED taillights, round ORVMs, and that familiar profile. The cabin has been carried over from the standard MINI Cooper 3-Door.

Power comes from the 32.6 kWh lithium-ion battery pack with a range of 270 km on a single charge. The electric hatchback can sprint from 0-100 kmph in 7.3 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 150 kmph. Compared to the petrol model, the electric version is about 145 kg heavier.
The MINI Cooper SE will be the most affordable EV in the luxury space when it arrives. The model is expected to carry a price tag of around Rs. 50 lakh (ex-showroom) and the model is likely to be offered with a host of personalisation options as most MINI cars come with. The launch is likely to take place sometime in November this year.
