New Generation Skoda Superb to Be Launched in India Today

The new Skoda Superb is designed based on the Volkswagen Group's popular MQB platform that also underpins the Skoda Octavia. Thanks to the new design platform the latest model has dimensionally grown and is now 80mm longer than the older model. What this translates into is a larger cabin space along with a premium and bolder stance. In terms of looks the new Skoda Superb borrows lots of design bits from the stunning Vision C concept. The front fascia comes with Skoda's signature wide grille and a pair of sharp angular 3D headlamps along with horizontal LED fog lamps. The car also gets a well-sculpted bonnet with some sharp character lines and a sporty front bumper.

Thanks to its longer structure, the side profile looks massive with some smooth creases and stylish electrically adjustable ORVMs, sporty alloys and slightly slopping roofline. The rear section of the car has been extensively revamped and because of the use of MQB platform its looks a lot like its German competitor the Volkswagen Passat. The new boot lid looks well-designed and the new 2-piece LED tail lamps add that premium character to it.
The inside of the car is ample, roomy, well appointed, and very well designed offering the luxury and comfort that you seek in a car in its class. In terms of equipment and gizmos the new Skoda Superb is equipped with features like dual-zone air conditioning, parking sensors, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable seats, and a host of additional smart technologies.
Under the hood the India-bound Skoda Superb will come with the re-tuned versions of the existing 1.8 TSI petrol & 2.0 TDI CR diesel units in all likelihood. The petrol unit is good for 177.5bhp, while the diesel unit churns out a maximum of 141bhp. Transmission duties will be handled by the same 6-speed manual gearbox and the trusted 7-speed Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) unit.
