Powering it is the 3.6-litre flat-six turbocharged hybrid powertrain like the GTS. But it gains an extra e-turbocharger, resulting in 711bhp and 800Nm. Compared to the outgoing Turbo S, it makes 60bhp more. There’s all-wheel drive to keep all the power in check, and it is channelled through an 8-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic. The claimed 0- 100 kmph time is a staggering 2.5 seconds, and it can clock 0-200 kmph in 8.4 seconds, with a top speed of 322 kmph. What’s more, it has clocked the famous Nurburgring Nordschleife with a lap time of 7:03.92 minutes.

Being a Turbo, the tell-tale sign is the air vent behind the doors on the rear wheel arches. Adding to its drama is the petite spoiler at the back and large 420mm/410mm front/rear carbon ceramic disc brakes, a lightweight sports exhaust system with a titanium muffler. It also wears a central-nut locking 21-inch wheels and active air diffusers. The cabin is new and gets all the new-age creature comforts.
