Omega Seiki Mobility To Set Up Centre Of Excellence, R&D Centre At IGDTUW

- The partners will develop a CoE, R&D centre within the university
- Omega Seiki Mobility will set up the R&D centre to develop EVs
- The University fraternity will benefit from opportunities in the EV space
Omega Seiki Mobility has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW) to develop and set up a state-of-the-art R&D centre and Centre of Excellence. The collaboration is primarily aimed at developing and setting up a state-of-the-art testing lab and equipment, as well as electric vehicle battery charging station in the university premises in Delhi, a statement from the company said. OSM and IGDTUW will jointly work on battery and battery management systems, electric powertrains, electronics, charging system, telematics, as well as battery and drivetrain improvements of electric vehicles.

Uday Narang, Founder and Chairman, Omega Seiki Mobility, says the way to faster EV adoption is through alliances. He added that the association with the Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women is a step forward towards building a bright future for women engineers.

Omega Seiki Mobility develops a range of electric three-wheelers, as well as electric two-wheelers.
The Vice Chancellor of IGDTUW, Dr. Amita Dev said, "The collaboration between OSM and IGDTUW will reinforce research and development in the field of electric vehicles (EV) technology. This collaboration will be very promising in the development of a state-of-the-art curriculum in the field of latest automotive and mobility technology which will further open a plethora of opportunities for the IGDTUW fraternity to work and solve real time industrial and research problems in the area of upcoming electric vehicle technology."

Under the alliance, Omega Seiki Mobility will be working on design, simulation, testing, product development, prototyping and production of automotive components and full vehicle development for electric vehicles, battery packs, and telematics. The company will also work on improving efficiency and performance improvement of OSM's existing vehicles with the students of IGDTUW, the official statement from Omega Seiki Mobility added. The company will be also working with the students of IGDTUW in designing, developing and sample manufacturing a racing car model for contesting in various competitions globally.
Omega Seiki Mobility makes a range of electric two-wheelers and electric three-wheelers. The company says it believes in creating sustainable mobility solutions with an integrated approach of connecting electric automobiles and the society.
