Paris Motor Show 2016: New Hyundai Grand i10 Makes Its Official Debut

- Hyundai Grand i10 facelift revealed with cosmetic updates & new features
- The new model comes with a lot more style and advanced technology
- The India-bound Grand i10 facelift will be a bit different
In terms of looks, the new Hyundai Grand i10 carries the same silhouette of the outgoing model but comes with quite a few cosmetic updates. The most prominent changes have been made to the car's front that now gets a slightly more muscular bonnet, a new Cascading front grille, and new round LED daytime running lights, positioned at the edges of the grille. The car also gets a newly designed front bumper with angular lines and boomerang shaped air intakes that house the round fog lamps with chrome bezels.

New Hyundai Grand i10 Front
The side profile of the new Grand i10 largely remains unchanged except for the new stylish ORVMs, new sporty 14-inch alloy wheel and the redesigned side mouldings with a new shape and size. On the other hand, the rear section sees some similar changes as the front like a new stylish bumper infused with a new black inlay as well as round rear fog lamps. The car gets bigger, restyled tail lamps, slightly redesigned hatch door and new spoilers.
Moving to the interior, the Grand i10 facelift gets an updated dual tone cabin with a new shade of red cloth coupled with the black cabin panels and seats. Customers can now also choose from blue and black interior colours on all trims. In terms of new gizmos, the car is equipped with connectivity features like a new 7-inch touchscreen navigation system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for integration, safe operation and mirrored functionality of mobile devices based on iOS or the Android operating system. Other features include automatic air conditioning, heated steering wheel and front seat warmers.

Safety offerings have also been enhanced as the new i10 now comes with two advanced features to actively avoid accidents, both based on the new multi-functional camera: a Front Collision Warning System (FCWS) and a Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) (optional on most trims). Using front camera sensors, FCWS alerts the driver acoustically and visually about collision dangers arising from other vehicles. Lane Departure Warning alerts the driver if unsafe movements are made while the car is driving over 60 km/h. The LDWS sounds an alarm before the car moves over lane markings.

New Hyundai Grand i10 Rear
Under the hood, the Euro-spec Hyundai Grand i10 facelift comes with the choice of two petrol engines - 1.0-litre and 1.25-litre. Both the motors come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard or an optional 4-speed automatic transmission. In India, the car will get the same petrol and diesel engines that do duty in the outgoing model.
As mentioned before, this new model is the European-spec version, which means a lot of these features might not even make it to the India-spec model that was recently spotted testing in the country.
