RRR Director SS Rajamouli Brings Home The Volvo XC40 SUV

- The Volvo XC40 SUV is the brand's entry-level offering in India
- The Volvo XC40 is offered only in the T4 R-Design petrol variant
- Volvo will soon rollout the all-electric XC40 Recharge in India as well
Koduri Srisaila Sri Rajamouli or more popularly known SS Rajamouli is known as the creator of myths and magic on celluloid. His larger than life movies are all about giving you that "cinematic" experience, be it Bahubaali or the more recent RRR that's breaking records at the box office worldwide. But in real life, Rajamouli is known to be a simpleton but not the one to do things out of style. And his latest acquisition surely reflects the same. Rajamouli recently took delivery of his new Volvo XC40, images of which were shared on Volvo Cars India's social media handle. The XC40 is the brand's entry-level offering and is priced at Rs. 44.50 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

The Volvo XC40 is available in the single T4 R-Design petrol variant and Rajamouli's car is finished in a lovely shade of Fusion Red with a black roof bringing in a nice contrast. The SUV gets a host of likeable elements like the piano black grille, Thor's hammer headlamps and the vertically-stacked LED taillights. The cabin is covered in soft-touch leather seats, dashboard has piano black and aluminium inserts on the dashboard and and 12.3-inch vertical touchscreen infotainment system.
The Volvo XC40 is loaded on the feature front and packs a Harmon Kardon 14-speaker 600 Watt sound system, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, dual-zone climate control, and more. There are also a host of active and passive safety features including seven airbags, distance alert, and rear and front park assist. It's the first car in the segment to get radar-based city safety and driver-assist systems with steering assist which can operate at speeds up to 50 kmph, adaptive cruise control, lane mitigation, driver alerts, run-off road protection, and roll stability control. Power comes from the 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that belts out 187 bhp and 300 Nm of peak torque. The motor is paired with an 8-speed Geartronic transmission. Volvo is also gearing up to introduce the all-electric XC40 Recharge later this year.

The new Volvo XC40 joins the BMW 7 Series and the Land Rover Range Rover already present in SS Rajamouli's garage. On the work front, the director is currently basking in the success of RRR. He is yet to announce his next movie, which reports suggest will star actor Mahesh Babu in the lead role. An official announcement is likely later in the year.
