Skoda Auto India Plans To Expand Dealership Network To 150 By End Of 2021

- Skoda currently has 105 touchpoints across India
- Skoda's network expansion coincides with the company's product launches
- The wider network will be instrumental in the success of the Kushaq
Skoda Auto India is set to have a busy second half of 2021 with the company planning multiple product launches and dealership expansion to further strengthen its presence in the country. The automaker will finally bring its first locally-made product under the India 2.0 strategy, and the Skoda Kushaq is by far, the manufacturer's most important launch. To facilitate better sales, the automaker also plans to improve its network presence and will aim to expand its sales and service presence to 150 touchpoints by the end of this year from the current 105. The automaker has widened its expansion plans further, having announced a target of 130 touchpoints earlier this year.

Speaking to carandbike recently, Zac Hollis, Brand Director - Skoda Auto India said, "We have big plans this year, not only on the product front but also when it comes to expansion of our dealership network. We currently have 105 dealerships in the country and by the end of 2021 we are looking at establishing 150 dealers in the country."
The Skoda Kushaq is the brand's all-new locally-developed, made-in-India model based on the MQB-A0-IN platform. The compact SUV will be launched towards the end of June while deliveries will begin from July onwards.

Skoda's product range starts from the Rapid, going up to the Superb. It will be joined by the Kushaq, Kodiaq & a new sedan soon
Starting out as the Vison IN concept, the Kushaq has been promising and the model does aim to give the best of everything at an attractive price point between Rs. 10-17 lakh (ex-showroom). The model gets over 90 per cent of local content that also promises a lower cost of ownership with better accessibility to spares. That's not the only launch planned though. Skoda also plans to bring the Kodiaq facelift with the new 2.0-litre TSI motor later this year, while its all-new compact sedan will also debut towards the end of the year.

The new model will be reportedly called the Skoda Slavia upon launch and could co-exist with the Rapid positioned higher in the segment. While details are scarce on what the model will have to offer, the model is confirmed to arrive by the end of the calendar year. Meanwhile, the automaker only recently introduced the long-awaited new-generation Octavia in the country.
