The Superb has always been a product in demand. It is one of the best vehicles in its class and is definitely a looker as well. Since 2001, Skoda has manufactured more than 850,000 units of the Superb. The Czech carmaker recently rolled off the 100,000th third-generation Superb at its Kvasiny plant. The third generation Superb made its debut in March 2015. Skoda has even expanded and modernised the Kvasiny plant to manufacture Superb models. The new Superb comes packed with a lot of tech, assistance systems, features and is almost 30 per cent more economical than the previous generation thanks to the EU-6 compliant engines. The Superb has won the 'Red Dot' award for excellent product design along with winning the 'Car of the Year in some European countries. "The production of this highly modern car is a testament to the outstanding competence of the Kvasiny plant and its employees," said Michael Oeljeklaus, Skoda Auto Board Member for Production and Logistics, adding: "The name Superb represents one of the best and most successful models in the automotive mid-class. This third-generation model will continue the Superb's success story in the coming months and years."

The Superb made its first ever appearance in 2001 and has always been one of the best-sellers in the segment. The second generation Superb made its debut in 2008 while the third generation model was unveiled to the world last year in March. Skoda has reportedly invested CZK 1.7 billion in the body-construction line alone at the Kvasiny plant. One of the reasons is that the plant is being prepared for Skoda's SUV Campaign as well. Skoda says that it plans to invest a total of CZK 7.2 billion by 2018 and create 2,000 new jobs as well. The capacity of the plant will also be gradually increased to 280,000 vehicles annually.
