2018 Volkswagen Jetta To Be Unveiled At Detroit Auto Show

A few months back, we brought you the spy shots of the 2018 Volkswagen Jetta which was spotted testing in Mexico. The seventh-generation Jetta makes use of Volkswagen's latest styling design along with other major cosmetic changes. While there were speculations regarding the launch of the new generation Jetta, a top official from VW has confirmed that the German car-makers will most definitely launch the 2018 Jetta at North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) next year.

The 2018 VW Jetta will be based on the company's MQB platform, which has underpinnings from the new-gen Polo and also Polo-based Virtus sedan, which was revealed recently. The new generation Jetta will feature a hexagonal blacked out grille and LED headlamps in the front. At the rear, the Jetta will feature trapezoidal fog lamps with muscular looking bumper. In profile, the new Jetta is more curved with a raked roofline.
Under the hood, will be a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbo charged engine and a 2.0-litre turbo charged engine with transmission duties to be taken care by an 8-Speed automatic gearbox. Reports also suggest that the new VW Jetta might also sport a manual transmission.
The Jetta is the most popular VW product in the US and with its debut set to be at the Detroit next year; we believe that the deliveries will begin from mid-2018. For India, there are no word from the company.
