Two-Wheeler Sales June 2022: Suzuki Sales Grow 37 Per Cent

- Suzuki India's most recent launch is the new Suzuki V-Strom SX
- The Suzuki Katana is likely to be launched in India very soon
- The Suzuki Hayabusa is also assembled in India from CKD kits
Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL), the two-wheeler subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan, reported overall sales of 68,018 units in June 2022. The company sold 52,929 units in the domestic market, a statement from SMIPL said, while exports accounted for 15,089 units in June 2022. According to the company, overall, Suzuki Motorcycle India witnessed a 37 per cent sales growth in June 2022, as compared to June 2021. Suzuki's latest product in India is the 250 cc crossover, the Suzuki V-Strom 250 SX.

Commenting on the sales performance, Satoshi Uchida, Managing Director, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd. said, "In June 2022, we successfully registered an overall sales of 68,018 units, which translated into a Year-on-Year sales growth of 37%. This consistent sales performance is the result of growing demand for Suzuki two-wheelers in India and in the overseas markets. As a responsible company, we remain committed to deliver quality products to all our customers. We are grateful to all our customers, dealer partners and staff members for their continuous support and belief in the brand, Suzuki."

2022 Suzuki Katana is likely to be launched in India very soon.
Suzuki Motorcycle India is getting ready to launch yet another premium motorcycle in India very soon. The company has teased the launch of the Suzuki Katana in India, which was showcased at the Auto Expo 2020. The Katana is powered by a 999 cc inline four-cylinder engine, and if Suzuki India manages to price the Katana well, or assembles it here in India as a CKD, it has the possibility of adding to the export portfolio from India, as well as rake in decent sales in the domestic market.

Suzuki India is also working on its first electric scooter, which will likely be announced in the next few months. Based on the made-in-India Suzuki Burgman Sreet 125, the Burgman Street Electric is likely to be introduced in India, and also for overseas markets.
