Volvo S90 T8 Plug-In Hybrid Is Now The Official Car Of The Swedish Ambassador To India

The Volvo S90 T8 Plug-In Hybrid sedan is now the official car of the Ambassador of Sweden to India, Klas Molin. Handing over the keys to the S90 T8 Plug-In Hybrid the Ambassador, Charles Frump, Managing Director, Volvo Car India said, "Volvo Cars and the Swedish government have always worked towards technological innovations in safety and sustainability and we are extremely happy that Ambassador Molin chose the S90 T8 as his official car." Volvo Cars also said that the S90 plug-in hybrid is a part of the company's vision of having one million electrified Volvo Cars on global roads by 2025.

Talking about choosing the Volvo S90 T8 Plug-In Hybrid as his official car, Klas Molin said, "Sweden has always been in the forefront of innovation and this car exemplifies that. We are pleased to include the Volvo S90 in our fleet and proud to be contributing to sustainable mobility." Currently, Sweden ranks second in the 2019 edition of Global Innovation Index, based on the presence of a suitable ecosystem for innovation.
Coming to the car itself, the Volvo S90 T8 Plug-in Hybrid is powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged and supercharged engine paired with an electric motor driving the rear wheel. The engine generates a combines the output of 400 bhp, and develops a peak torque of 640 Nm, while mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The luxury sedan can accelerate to 0-100 kmph in around 4.8 seconds.
