2016 Land Rover Evoque Launched; Priced at Rs. 47.10 Lakh

Land Rover has finally launched its 2016 Range Rover Evoque in India with prices starting at Rs. 47.10 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai) with increased localisation being the cause of its price-drop. The company had started locally assembling the Evoque in March this year and the facelift will also make India its home.
The facelifted Evoque sees changes to the front which is the most noticeable difference when compared to its predecessor. The new version will come with a restyled bumper, bigger air intakes, tweaked front grille and full-LED adaptive head-lamps. There's also a new tailgate spoiler, different graphics for the LED tail-lamps, and fresh alloy wheel designs.
The cabin too sees a host of changes and the new Land Rover Evoque will get new door casings, seats, and an updated infotainment system equipped with an 8-inch touch-screen display. The new Evoque borrows Land Rover's All-Terrain Progress Control (ATPC) system which helps the it to maintain a pre-established speed when tackling rough terrain.
Under the hood, the new Evoque gets the 2.2-litre DW12 engine which is good enough for 188bhp and develops 420Nm of torque from as low as 1750rpm. The engine is mated to a 9-speed autobox which includes Drive Select with Paddle shifters and a sport mode. The 9-speed gearbox is 7.5kg lighter than its six-speed predecessor and helps in delivering a smoother drive.

Land Rover has managed to pack in plenty in terms of safety features too; it comes with a lane-keeping assist system featuring a stereo digital camera to detect unintended lane changes and when this happens, the system will automatically apply corrective steering measures to keep the car in lane.
There's also the autonomous emergency braking system that can diminish the severity of an impact by automatically applying the brakes in case of an imminent collision. It also gets the attention assist estimation system, which monitors steering inputs to detect whether the driver is at risk of falling asleep behind the wheel. Upon detection of drowsiness, the driver is notified via visual and audio warnings.
The company said that there have already been 125 bookings received for the car and the introduction of the Evoque brings in a refreshing change to the line-up of cars. However, the facelift Evoque is priced just Rs. 1 lakh less than the Discovery Sport, which is no doubt a good looking car. Jaguar Land Rover has already grabbed 9 per cent market share in the luxury car segment in India and with new launches plan to increase that in the coming years.
Facelifted Range Rover Evoque prices (ex-showroom, Mumbai):
Range Rover Evoque Pure: Rs 47.10 lakh
Range Rover Evoque SE: Rs 52.90 lakh
Range Rover Evoque HSE: Rs 57.7 lakh
Range Rover Evoque HSE Dynamic: Rs 63.2 lakh
