2019 Audi A4 Facelift Revealed, Gets Sporty Styling Cues

Hot on the heels of the new S60 and the facelifted C-Class, Audi has unveiled the updated and facelifted version of its popular A4. The new 2019 Audi A4 gets subtle changes to the exterior and the interior and also brings about a new S-Line package that further accentuates the A4's good looks. The new A4 mechanically will stay the same and India will continue to get the 1.4-litre petrol along with the 2-litre diesel engine both mated to an automatic gearbox. The A4 will internationally be available with both all-wheel-drive Quattro and front wheel drive while models in India will continue to get the front wheel drive package.

The new S-Line package also debuts a lovely new colour called Turbo Blue as seen in the pictures here. The biggest change in the new car will be the new sportier bumpers that ape the RS models. The larger intakes on the front bumper and the dual air intakes on each side are inspired from the likes of the larger sportier sedans and wagons like the RS6. The vents on each side also help flow air through them and around the wheels and tyres in order to improve airflow, reduce drag and thereby increasing efficiency. The grille too gets a 3D look with new finishes on the slats that make it look sportier.

Around the rear, the new bumper sports an inbuilt diffuser, a more aggressive design and trapezoidal exhaust tips that help improve the sportier stance on the car. The A4 will also get a subtle lip spoiler to add to that look. The new 2019 model year A4 will also get updated wheels ranging from 16-inch to 19-inch. The S-line package will also come with Audi logos on the rear doors, either in black or in silver, depending on the body paint colour along with red painted calipers and LED headlamps. On the inside, the Audi A4 will get carbonfibre inlays on the S-Line package along with sports seats that can be finished either in standard black or optional colour schemes such as red.

Sales for the 2019 model year Audi A4 in Germany will begin from next month. Expect an India launch sometime next year as the Audi A4 is assembled in India and bringing updated kits for CKD operation will not be as quick as the European rollouts. While Audi India did want to bring a manual version of the A4 to India a few years ago and subsequently stuck to offering only an auto, it is unlikely that that plan of action is going to change.
