2021 Triumph Speed Twin Listed On Triumph India Website

Triumph Motorcycles has listed the 2021 Triumph Speed Twin on its India website, with the text saying, "Price Coming Soon." While the 2021 Speed Twin has been unveiled globally, India will also likely get the new Speed Twin pretty soon, after it goes into production in Triumph's manufacturing facility in Thailand. The 2021 Speed Twin will be offered in all three colours, Red Hopper, Matte Storm Grey and Red Hopper, and prices in India are expected to be around or just under Rs. 10 lakh (Ex-showroom).

For 2021, the Triumph Speed Twin gets significant updates, including a tweaked engine with more performance, updated suspension and geometry, as well as higher specification components and minor cosmetic changes. The 1,200 cc Bonneville 'high power' engine makes 3 bhp more, with a 500 rpm higher redline, and the torque coming in 500 rpm lower in the revs, making for a wider power band. Maximum performance of 99 bhp is achieved at 7,250 rpm, while peak torque of 112 Nm is at 4,250 rpm. The engine internals have been changed with new crankshaft and alternator, new balancer shaft, new cam profile and high compression pistons, resulting in an inertia reduction of 17 per cent.

The suspension has now been changed, and gets a 43 mm Marzocchi fork up front with cartridge damping, and twin rear shocks with adjustable preload. Braking performance is also improved with new higher specification Brembo four-piston M50 radial monobloc calipers gripping twin 320 mm discs. At the rear wheel is a Nissin two-piston caliper with 220 mm disc. The steering geometry has been changed as well, with a half-degree sharper rake and 2 mm shorter trail.

The 17-inch alloy wheels feature a new 12-spoke design, and are shod with new Metzeler Racetec RR tyres, which offer better grip, precision and high-speed stability. The Speed Twin gets three riding modes, Rain, Road and Sport, which have also been enhanced for 2021. The contemporary 3D analogue twin-pod instrument console incorporates a digital screen with menu which can be accessed by a scroll button on the handlebar. The screen offers handy information like gear position indicator, two trip settings, fuel level, distance to empty, as well as current and average fuel consumption, and access to traction control settings.

2021 Triumph Speed Twin has more or less the same design, but also gets minor cosmetic changes, like new graphics, and more stylish details
The design is more or less the same as the outgoing Triumph Speed Twin, but the new model now gets more premium and stylish details. The 14.5 litre fuel tank gets new graphics, while the anodized headlamp mounts are new, and the upswept silencers now get the brushed aluminium finish, and other premium bits include the classic Monza fuel cap, and clear anodized aluminium swingarm. The front and rear mudguards get new mounts, and the side panels get brushed aluminium finish, along with the heel guards.
