4th Generation Honda City Clocks 2 Lakh Sales In India

Honda City, the popular sedan from the Japanese auto giant, has recently crossed the 2 lakh sales milestone in India. The fourth generation Honda City sedan that is currently on sale in India, was launched in January 2014 and in the last 32 months, it has cumulatively registered sales of 200,098 units by the end of August 2016.
Now, the Honda City sedan has had a strong relation with the Indian buyers and has been a part of the Indian car market for 18 years. First introduced in India in January 1998, the Honda City is one of the most popular sedans in the country and has cumulatively catered to 6.3 lakh customers in the country. In fact, the car has been ranked No.1 in the JD Power Initial Quality Study for the 14th time during its presence in the Indian market.

As for the car itself, the 4th Generation City is built on Honda's latest design language and comes with a host of sporty exterior styling and premium features. The car comes in both petrol and diesel engine options - a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol motor and a 1.5-litre i-DTEC oil burner. While the petrol engine churns out 117bhp and develops 145Nm of peak torque, the diesel unit makes 98bhp and develops 200Nm of peak torque.
Transmission duties in the petrol and diesel variants are handled by a 5-speed and 6-speed manual gearbox respectively. In addition to that, the Honda City petrol also comes with a CVT unit as an option. The City also comes with a host of Honda's active and passive safety technologies, including ABS with EBD, SRS airbags and Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body shell.
