5 Car Logos/Emblems and The Vision Behind Them

Be it hatchbacks or sedans, coupes or SUVs – car manufacturers keep innovating and presenting cars to us that fulfil all our requirements. Each of these world-renowned brands has an inspiration, a story behind what makes them great. A glimpse or a sneak-peek of such stories is dictated by the official emblem of the company. Let's look at some of the world's most iconic car brands' emblems and the inspiration/ideas behind them.

There are two kinds of car brands – one which keep changing their logos to be relevant and find more credibility, whereas the other one remains consistent for years because it works for them. Mercedes falls in the second category. The world-renowned brand's three-pointed star has blessed the bonnets of thousands of widely-used and respected vehicles. Originally, the brand's logo featured a golden star. It then evolved into a white-coloured star situated in the middle of an apparent circled border featuring details around its edges. The third variant is the one which is still being used. It represents the power and prevalence of the Daimler engines out in the sea, air as well as land, each represented by one pointer.
AUDI

The four-ring logo is famously associated with the German carmaker. Audi's logo resembles the official logo of Olympics and it goes way beyond simplicity. Each of the rings signify the merger of four major car manufacturers (Audi, DKW, Horch and Wanderer). All of them joined forces to form Auto Union AG. In the beginning, each ring featured an individual logo, but eventually, the company's logos were erased.
HYUNDAI

An innovative leader in the car-making industry, Hyundai with its powerful cars has managed to create waves globally. The H-shape inside the oval represents two people shaking hands. One figure symbolises the company while the other one represents the customer. The logo portrays trust and mutually-deserved respect.
TOYOTA

Toyota Kirloskar Motor is a venture of Toyota Motor Corp. It is currently the fourth largest car manufacturer in India. The company features a universally-recognised logo which strikes familiarity everywhere. It consists of three ovals, all of which are arranged in a horizontally-symmetrical way. The two ovals which are perpendicular are symbolic of the heart of both the customer and the company. The largest oval represents the wide offerings of Toyota as a brand. The overlapping ovals signify a win-win relationship between the customers.
HONDA

Another leading car manufacturer in both India and globally, Honda offers a vast variety of cars which perform exceptionally. Their official logo is minimalistic and clean. The “H” in the logo is very thick, and this thickness represents durability, trust and reliability. As it goes down, the “H” becomes thinner, appearing like the arms which are pointed towards the sky. Their motto? “The Power of Dreams” - Totally apt.
These were some of the major car-manufacturers' logos and their respective meanings. Behind each of them lies an inspirational story. We hope it inspires you in some way too!
