5 Weirdest Cars Of All Time

Cars come in all colours, shapes, and sizes. On the one hand, some cars deserve awards for their stunning design and aesthetics. And, on the other hand, some cars deserve a place in a museum for their bizarreness. Some cars don't exactly scream aesthetics; instead, they exemplify how car design could go wrong. Take a look at these five cars that redefine weirdness for automobiles!
1990 Toyota Sera
The Toyota Sera tops our list for bizarre cars of all time. This car was a favourite for many 90s kids. Open the two doors of this car, and that's when the weirdness comes flowing out. Toyota took things to another level by installing a glass canopy-style roof on the Sera. The automaker probably thought that it would be a cool setup. However, if we look back at this car, it is more bizarre than extraordinary.

2004 Chevrolet SSR
Next on the lineup is the 2004 Chevrolet SSR. This Chevrolet is a super sport roadster with a retractable hardtop convertible pickup truck. Are you confused? Well, you are not the only one. From the very beginning, the Chevrolet SSR was a bad idea. The weird design of this car has given scars that would take forever to heal. Not so surprisingly, the model could last only for two years in the market.
Nissan EXA N13 Sportbak
Nissan EXA N 13 Sportbak is the epitome of weird designs. It featured a T-bar removable hatch roof, that could either be converted to a coupe-style hatch door or a shooting brake canopy. Although offered only in one body style, the same car could become a coupe, cabriolet or station wagon, depending on panels removed. What's shocking is despite its bizarre aesthetics, this car enjoyed a good run in the market. Possibly because it was considered to be weird but cool. In fact, Nissan even came out a with a luxury version of this car, called the Nissan EXA Solitaire.

1990 BMW Z1
You didn't expect to see a BMW in this list, did you? Well, we are as shocked as you are. One would think that a brand that is known for designing beautiful cars would be miles away from this mistake. However, the Z1 model from BMW can only be called peculiar. The vertically sliding doors are an utter disappointment. The kidney grille has a stark resemblance to a rat's nose. We hope that BMW doesn't make such attempts anymore!
1980 Subaru BRAT
The name says it all for this Subaru model. The tonneaus behind the passenger compartment are weird on another level. Even with the aesthetics, it feels like Subaru was trying to crack a joke that went wrong. But it is the oddity of the Subaru which makes it so popular. Today, it is one of the most desired collectables for car enthusiasts.
