Actor Shahid Kapoor Takes Delivery Of His New Mercedes-Maybach S580

More recently, videos emerged on social media showing actor Shahid Kapoor and wife Mira Rajput taking a test drive of the new Mercedes-Maybach S580. And now, the actor recently took delivery of his new Maybach in a pristine white shade. Kapoor also took to Instagram to share his new ride with a very "cool" reel. Priced at Rs. 2.5 crore (ex-showroom, India) before taxes, the Mercedes-Maybach S580 is quite the upgrade for the Jersey star from his previous daily driver, the Mercedes-AMG S400.

The Mercedes-Maybach S580 was launched recently alongside the more expensive Mercedes-Maybach S680. The latter arrives in India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), while the S580 is locally assembled at the company's Chakan facility. Shahid Kapoor's Maybach comes with the lovely monobloc wheels, while the cabin seems to be done up in a shade of white, complementing the exterior. It's also noteworthy that while his contemporaries have been opting for the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600, the actor has gone for the traditional route when it comes to owning a Maybach.

On the performance front, the Mercedes-Maybach S580 packs some serious power to push around the nearly three-tonne limousine. Power comes from the monstrous 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine tuned for 496 bhp and 700 Nm of peak torque. The motor comes paired with the EQ Boost 48-volt mild-hybrid system to improve initial acceleration and fuel efficiency. Power is sent to the rear wheels via the 9-speed automatic transmission.

The S580 gets a longer wheelbase over the S-Class with all that extra space aimed to keep the rear passengers comfortable

The Mercedes-Maybach S580 is loaded on features too and packs the latest generation MBUX infotainment system, Nappa leather upholstery, Burmester sound system, along with a host of active and passive safety aids. Speaking of Shahid's garage, the actor is an avid petrolhead and has had some really interesting cars over the years. This includes the Jaguar XK-R, Land Rover Range Rover Vogue, Porsche Cayenne, Mercedes-Benz GL-Class, the previous-generation S-Class, and Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe. Kapoor also likes his two wheels and currently owns the Ducati Scrambler 1100 Special.

On the work front, Kapoor is awaiting the release of his next film Jersey later this year. He also has a web series lined up with directors Raj and DK, along with a movie with director Ali Abbas Zafar.
