Actor Shahid Kapoor Rides To A Dinner Date On His Ducati Scrambler 1100 Special

While there are a bunch of riders in the world of Bollywood, motorcyclists are far and few and actor Shahid Kapoor just happens to belong to the latter category. The biker has had an eclectic collection of motorcycles over the years and the latest two wheels to join his garage is the Ducati Scrambler 1100. The new Scrambler 1100 is the more powerful version based on the humble Scrambler 800, boasting of a bigger engine, better components and improved performance too. While Shahid bought his Scrambler a while back, this is for the first time we've had a chance to take a good look at the motorcycle, complete with the accessories.

Shahid has brought home the Ducati Scrambler 1100 Special, which sits a tad above the standard version and gets a custom grey colour complemented by the black finished frame, spoked wheels and chrome exhausts. The bike comes with aluminium mudguards, while the gold finished front forks at to the beefy and old-school look of what is Ducati's idea of a modern-classic motorcycle. In terms of power, the 1100 cc L-Twin motor belts out 83 bhp and 88 Nm of peak torque, while paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
The Ducati Scrambler 1100 also sports a larger 15 litre fuel tank, and comes with a number of electronic aids incuding ride-by-wire with multiple riding modes, Bosch 9.1 ABS, inertial measurement unit (IMU) that adds cornering ABS and traction control, LCD instrument console and more. Suspension duties are peformed by USD forks up front, while a monoshock serves purpose at the rear. Prices for the Scrambler 1100 start at nearly Rs. 11 lakh (ex-showroom).
Kapoor's Ducati gets subtle accessories including the suede finished seat, frame protectors, and a small flyscreen over the round LED headlamp on the Ducati Scrambler 1100 Special. It also needs to be noted is Shahid's choice of riding gear including the Shark modular helmet finished in grey that matches the Ducati, while that leather jacket is in fact a motorcycle riding jacket from Rev'It and comes with armoured protection. While we may not have seen the actor wear a helmet too many times on celluloid, it's great to see him all geared up on the open road.
Basking in the success of his latest release, Shahid Kapoor recently took a riding trip across the Alps with his friends on the BMW R 1250 GS, and the pictures on his Instagram handle certainly will give bikers a new destination to add to their riding list.
