Actor Shahid Kapoor Test Drives The Newly-Launched Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Worth Rs. 2.5 Crore

It's no secret that actor Shahid Kapoor is a petrolhead at heart. The star has had some of the most fun and luxurious cars in his garage over the years and he owns an enviable collection of motorcycles as well. While his currently daily has been the brilliant Mercedes-Benz S400 with the AMG treatment, the actor has now joined the Maybach club in a step-up over his contemporaries. Kapoor became one of the first customers of the newly-launched Mercedes-Maybach S580, images of which have now gone viral online. The Mercedes-Maybach S580 is locally assembled in the country and prices start at Rs. 2.5 crore (ex-showroom, India).

Shahid's new S-Class Maybach arrives in the black shade with retro-styled monobloc wheels
The Mercedes-Maybach S680 4MATIC is the flagship offering from the automaker and packs the monstrous 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that develops 496 bhp and a 700 Nm of peak torque. The motor comes paired with the EQ Boost 48-volt mild-hybrid system to improve initial acceleration and fuel efficiency. Power is sent to the rear wheels via the 9-speed automatic transmission. This is also one of the most powerful cars in Shahid's garage at the moment. 0-100 kmph comes up in 4.7 seconds, while the top speed is electronically limited to 250 kmph.

The new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class impresses on the feature front too with the MBUX infotainment system that comes with five screens in the cabin. The limousine's interior is done in Nappa leather upholstery while there's a Burmester sound system as well. The S-Class Maybach has also become the first car in India to get Level 2 Autonomous Driving with Evasive Steering Assist and Active Brake Assist with cross-traffic function.

Coming to the Kapoor garage, it has had the Jaguar XK-R, Land Rover Range Rover Vogue, Porsche Cayenne, Mercedes-Benz GL-Class, the previous-generation S-Class, and Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe. The Ishq Vishq actor also gifted his father and actor Pankaj Kapoor a Mercedes-Benz ML-Class a couple of years ago. On the two wheels side, Shahid can be seen on his new Ducati Scrambler 1100 Special these days. He's also had the Harley-Davidson Fat Boy, Yamaha MT-01, among others. On the work front, the actor will be seen in the film Jersey next. He also has a web series lined up with directors Raj and DK, along with a movie with director Ali Abbas Zafar. While Jersey gears up for release in a few weeks, the other projects are currently under production.
