- Operations planned across 100 cities in the next two years
- New products at different price points also planned over the next 2 years

On the sidelines of the inauguration of the new Ather Space in Delhi, Tarun Mehta, CEO and Co-Founder, Ather Energy outlined his company's expansion plans over the next couple of year. Speaking with carandbike, Mehta said after the Delhi experience centre, Ather Energy is planning to open up as many as 5 points across the Delhi-NCR region, and pan-India, Ather is getting ready to ramp up operations across 100 cities over the next two years. "We'll be present in 100 cities in the next two years, that's what I know," said Mehta, while speaking with carandbike in an exclusive interaction. On the product side too, Ather Energy will be looking to introduce more variants, and different products at different price points over the next two years.
"The portfolio will expand. We'll have more variants of 450, and we're also looking at more scooters altogether, but beyond that I can't comment," said Mehta.

The fast-charging network, Ather Grid has been set up across 14 locations in Delhi-NCR
In Delhi alone, Ather Energy already has 14 fast chargers across the National Capital Region, and by the end of the year, the company intends to add more fast chargers to increase that number to around 50 fast chargers by the end of the current year. Currently, Ather Energy has presence in 22 cities across India, including Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Kochi, Ahmedabad and Jaipur, and in the next phase of expansion, Ather Energy will target Tier II and Tier III cities.
"We'll definitely be present in more and more segments as time goes by, and our price points will get more and more competitive, but our strategy is pretty simple. Whichever segment we're going to be present in, we want to build a great experience for the customer there. Our way of cutting cost will never be that build a spec and be done with it. We want to do that holy integration of hardware, software and infrastructure in every single product that we build. Ather will stand for a great product experience. That doesn't mean that we will be present in a particular price point. Whichever price point we'll be in, you will have the best product experience in that price point," said Mehta.

While still priced at a premium, the Ather 450 range now appears to be more accessible than before. The electric scooters are priced lowest in Delhi, with the Ather 450 Plus priced at Rs. 1.13 lakh (Ex-showroom).
The Delhi's government's push for EV adoption, as well as increased subsidies under FAME II (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of EVs) has made Ather's electric scooters most affordable in Delhi. Ather The new Ather Space experience centre in Delhi offers the Ather 450 Plus and Ather 450X at the lowest prices possible across India, with the 450X priced at Rs. 1.32 lakh (Ex-showroom), and the 450 Plus priced at Rs. 1.13 lakh (Ex-showroom).
