Auto Sales July 2022: Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Records 18 Per Cent Growth In Domestic Sales

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has recorded a sales growth of 18 per cent in the domestic market selling 4,02,701 units in July 2022 as compared to 3,40,420 units sold in the same month last year. The company also exported 40,942 units in the same month. Overall, the company sold 4,43,643 units in the Indian market in July 2022. In terms of month-on-month (MoM) sales, the company recorded a growth of 13.25 per cent as it had sold 3,55,560 units in the Indian market in June 2022.
Commenting on upward growth trajectory, Atsushi Ogata, Managing Director, President & CEO, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India said, "Performance in the first quarter has been really encouraging with positive customer sentiment in the market. Factors like good monsoon and increased demand for personal mobility has translated well to rise in customer walk-ins & enquiries. Commencing second quarter on a high along with coming festive season, we expect to regain the growth momentum at a faster rate."
The company has also been expanding its premium motorcycle retail network- BigWing in Southern India. HMSI inaugurated its Honda BigWing outlets in Warangal (Telangana), Madurai (Tamil Nadu) Thodupuzha (Kerala) and Malappuram (Kerala). In June 2022, HMSI had announced that cumulative two-wheeler sales in West Bengal crossed the momentous 20 Lac units' mark. Parallelly, Honda Shine family achieved over 20 million cumulative customers in central region.
