Bajaj Pulsar 200 AS (Adventure Sport) Spotted; Launching in India?

While India is still waiting for an official announcement about the launch date of the Pulsar 200 SS, a new variant of the Pulsar has made its appearance in Indonesia. The new model seems to have been designed for people looking for an affordable adventure sports bike.
Expected to be called the Pulsar 200 AS (Adventure Sport), the vehicle will most probably make its debut in Indonesia along side the Pulsar 200 SS. The new is based on the Pulsar 200 NS, and features a larger windshield than the 200 NS, a semi-fairing merged into the tank and big headlamp with projector. The vehicle's front also wears a sticker that, however, is not clearly readable. That said, the vehicle's front seems to have taken its inspiration from the Discover 150F and rest of its design look almost similar to the 200 NS. It carries the similar rear section, swing arm, seat positioning and non-ABS disc brakes.

Also, the Pulsar 200 AS features the same powertrain, 199.5cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, that powers the 200 NS. This engine, mated to a 6-speed transmission, is claimed to return a maximum power output of 23bhp and 18.3Nm of peak torque.
Though the company hasn't yet revealed anything about the new model, we think it will make sense for Bajaj to roll out this variant in India as well.
