Located in Wolfsburg, Germany, this is one of the biggest production facilities any vehicle manufacturer owns. It is spread over a surface area of 6,500,000 square meters and produces as much as 3,800 cars every day. This number added to 12 months, making 815,000 units on an annual basis. Since Volkswagen is a German company, it is safe to say that this is their biggest plant and the most important one as well.
Hyundai Moto Company (Ulsan plant)
Located in Hyundai Motor's hometown, in South Korea, this factory was opened decades ago in the year 1968. Since then, the factory has really made major leaps when it comes to employment, with an increase of about 34,000 to this day. The factory is laid over an area of 5.050,000 square meters. The complex is made up of office buildings, each capable enough to produce a fully-made car in just about 12 seconds. The plant also has its own sewage treatment plant and cargo ship pier. The sewage treatment system uses a liquid ring vacuum pump that further helps the living conditions, especially on the onsite dormitory.
Tesla Industry (California plant)
Third on this list has to be the Tesla Factory with more than 510,966 square meters of area. This company is not very old, but the recent success has made it necessary for them to rent out a factory of this size. This site mainly produces the Tesla electric cars and uses around 160 specialized robots, out of which ten are the largest in the world. On a weekly basis, this factory is able to churn out more than a thousand units. Even though this is the largest Tesla automobile factory, the company outdid itself with another purchase in Nevada. Known as the Tesla Gigafactory, the Nevada site has a total area of 1,207,740 square meters and is yet to be completed.
