- 530i 50 Jahre Edition priced Rs 3 lakh more than the standard 530i
- Gets darker finished cosmetics bits and Laserlight headlamps
- Available in limited numbers via BMW's digital retail channel
BMW has launched yet another special edition model in India to commemorate 50 years of its M performance brand. The latest, is the 530i M Sport-based 50 Jahre M Edition priced at Rs 67.50 lakh (ex-showroom) – about Rs 3 lakh more than the standard M Sport. Available exclusive via the company’s online retail channel, the Jahre edition is only being offered in limited numbers and is one of 10 special edition M and M Sport models set to launch in India this year.
Compared to the standard 530i M Sport, the Jahre Edition gets a darker exterior cosmetic package with black finishes to the grille, wheels, exhaust finishers and window trim. The bonnet, boot lid and wheel caps wear the new celebratory BMW M roundel while the brake calipers are now finished in red in place of blue. The Jahre Edition also gets the Shadowline package as standard. The headlamps are upgraded from Adaptive LEDs from the 530i M Sport to BMW’s Laserlight units.
Inside the cabin is the same as on the standard M Sport with the key differences coming down to the ceramic black surrounds for various controls on the centre console and piano black trim finishers. While the standard 530i M Sport gets a choice of three upholstery colours, the Jahre Edition is limited to just Black.
In terms of equipment, save for the addition of the Laserlight headlamps, the equipment list remains near unchanged over the regular M Sport.
Powering the 530i 50 Jahre M edition is the familiar 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine developing 248 bhp and 350 Nm. The mill is paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox as standard.
