Bugatti Chiron Super Sport Deliveries Begin; Limited To Only 9 Examples

French hypercar maker, Bugatti, has begun the deliveries of the Chiron Super Sport to customers globally. Only nine examples of the special offering have been commissioned and the Super Sport is one of the fastest cars to be built by the manufacturer. Bugatti revealed that one of the first of the Chiron Super Sports to be delivered has received special treatment from Bugatti's Sur Mesure customisation program. With bespoke 'Vagues de Lumière' paintwork, the personalised unit is the result of close collaboration between its new owner and Bugatti's Sur Mesure team.

Commenting on the deliveries, Christophe Piochon, President of Bugatti Automobiles, said, "It's extremely exciting to be witnessing the first customer units of the Chiron Super Sport come together within our Atelier. Hearing brand new 8.0-litre W16 engines fire up for the first time, knowing that they are soon to become a centrepiece of our customers' collections across the globe is a personal highlight. The experience of driving a Chiron Super Sport cannot be compared to anything else the automotive industry has to offer, and we very much look forward to our customers covering many unforgettable miles behind the wheel."

The intricate 'Vagues de Lumière' style features an intricate hand-painted pattern that mimics the way lights reflect off Chiron Super Sport's curved panels. Furthermore, each carbon fibre surface has been pored over by Bugatti's team of expert designers and engineers to extract greater performance. The Chiron Super Sport's longtail silhouette automatically gives it a different appearance within the Chiron family, while the cabin is equally finished in the best of luxury and comfort.

But it's the numbers that define the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport with the 8.0-litre W16 engine with quad turbochargers belting out a chest-thumping 1578 bhp and a top speed of 440 kmph. The engine also gets an enhanced oil pump, cylinder head and valve train, while the transmission and clutch were adapted to handle more power as well. Bugatti also worked on the chassis and suspension of the Chiron Super Sport creating a retuned, electronically controlled chassis. It's further aided by the automobile's extended rear and modified front end to maintain a neutral balance.
