The aftersales car repairs and maintenance business in India is growing strongly and is welcoming more and more players. In the last few years, we have witnessed the entry of several new start-ups in this space, and one among them is Gurugram-based Fixigo. The company was Co-founded by Sami Shaik, Tarun Malhotra and Ajay Pahwa, and it started operations in 2019 as a mobile car washing company. Later, by 2021, Fixigo ventured into the car repair and service business, starting its operations in Delhi and NCR. The company wants to be present in 15 cities across India by October 2022. Speaking with car&bike, Sami Shaik, Co-Founder& CEO of FixiGo, said that the company is already present in 11 cities. "In Bengaluru, we are live already, and we are planning to launch our operation in Mumbai, Pune and Hyderabad by end of this year," he said.

Fixigo was Co-founded by Sami Shaik, Tarun Malhotra and Ajay Pahwa, and it started operations in 2019 as a mobile car washing company.

Sami says that the company aims to offer affordable, multi-brand car repair and maintenance services. Fixigo does this by partnering with local garages in different cities and inducting them into its platform. So anytime a customer puts a service request through the Fixigo App or website, the nearest garage is notified who will visit the customer's location and based on the problem either fix the car at their place or take it to the workshop.

Right now, the company has a network of more than 280 garages across 11 cities, and with the addition of the 4 new cities, the aim is the have over 500 garages on its platform. "Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru are themselves larger cities so, we will need a minimum of 500+ garages to maintain our operations," Shaik added.

From the current 280+ garages in 11 cities, the company aims to have 500+ garages on its platform by the end of the year with the addition of the 4 new cities.

The company also works on upskilling the mechanics that are on its platform, and this is done with dedicated advisors. Explaining this further Sami Shaik said, "We have divided these workshops into segments - Primary and the Secondary. So, in all the primary workshops our advisor will stay there at all times, while the secondary workshop is managed by the advisors virtually. If any issue or problem arises, they will visit the location."
