Driving on the Wrong Side: Know the Rules!

There is no doubt that driving in India is indeed a lot of hassle. This is because India is mostly an overpopulated country and the number of cars is increasing. As per the report, many mishaps happen due to wrong side drives; hence, the law makes break old laws to reshape them into a new way so that the law becomes unshakable. Be that as it may, in the event you are in India and drive through the wrong side, there may be a few penalties you might have to pay.

Driving does come with many ins and outs and rules and notions that one must follow. More than the skill you need to be well-versed in, you will have to learn about the etiquette you need to maintain for others. This is because driving a car is communal activity; hence, you will need to abide by the rule that RTO sets if you consider driving in India. A few activities such as driving through the wrong side, cutting the lane, overspeeding, overtaking, and much more are considered a crime. Hence you will do your best. If you play by the rules while you are driving, else you might be in trouble and might not want that.

A few more facts to know
As per the new vehicle amendment act that the central government has coined, there are a few tweaks that you need to know. However, all those above-mentioned offences are strictly regarded as a crime. You also need to know that in Mumbai, if you drive through the wrong way, you can even be dragged to court. These offences are called non-compoundable; that is, you will not get any sort of ground where you can be excused as these are the kind of crimes that are considered not done out of mistake but out of choice. Previously, one would get fines such as Rs 200 for wrong side driving; however, you will have to visit court for the altercation.
Other offences such as DUI are driving under the influence, where the offence is classified under first-time offender and second-time offender. However, in both cases, it is quite impractical to do so as one gets the driving license, not before 18; hence it is expected not to drive the car while consuming alcohol or any substance abuse. Hence if you consider driving with sanity or drive being insane is a choice that you make; the only difference is your choice of being not so sensitive while driving might result in taking you the court.
You also need to know that activists are quite concerned about the wrong side driving by dragging people to court. Well! It is working to make people alert about what your case could be conducive to if you drive through the wrong way. India is a highly populated country; it is challenging to cope with a loose law stance; hence, strong legal binding was necessary.

The conclusion
This article is not literally to state the result of offensive driving but to infuse ideas among the readers about the gravitas of safe driving. If you consider driving in India, you will do your best to follow the rules. This is because it is possible to attain a notion of harmony in driving through safe driving.
