Ducati Multistrada 1260 Pikes Peak Edition Launched In India

Ducati India had recently launched the all-new Multistrada 1260 in India a few weeks ago and now, it has followed up that with the launch of the Multistrada 1260 Pikes Peak edition in India at a price of Rs. 21.42 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The Pikes Peak Edition, needless to say, takes inspiration from the Multistrada models that participated in the recently held Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Challenge and gets a few updates of its own. Ducati India has said that it will bring only a limited number of the Pikes Peak Edition models in India and the deliveries of the same will begin in July 2018. So if you are keen on buying a motorsport themed Multistrada 1260, now is the best time to do so.

Now, being a motorsport themed motorcycle, the Multistrada 1260 Pikes Peak Edition gets quite a few updates as compared to the standard Multistrada 1260. First and foremost, the Pikes Peak Edition gets carbon fibre parts such as the windscreen, front mudguard, air intake covers. Also, the wheels on the Pikes Peak Edition are forged Aluminium which means they are lighter than the ones on the standard model. Then, the Pikes Peak Edition gets Ohlins USD forks upfront along with an Ohlins TTX36 monoshock at the rear. Both units can be adjusted mechanically. Lastly, the swingarm on the Pikes Peak Edition is longer and the front end geometry has been slightly changed. Additionally, there is a bi-directional quickshifter on offer along with a Termignoni exhaust system.
(Ducati participated at this year's Pikes Peak International Hill Climb with the Multistrada 1260)The Ducati Multistrada 1260 Pikes Peak Edition uses the same 1,262 L-Twin DVT Testastretta engine that makes 158 bhp and 129.5 Nm of peak torque along with a 6-speed manual gearbox. There are no changes to the engine.
The Multistrada Pikes Peak Edition is approximately Rs. 5.43 lakh more expensive than the standard Multistrada 1260 and Rs. 3.36 lakh more expensive than the Multistrada 1260 S in India.
