Ferrari F12tdf Revealed; Only 799 Units to be Made

This highly anticipated hardcore F12 packs in 769bhp and that's 39 more than the standard version. Only 799 units will ever be made and Ferrari promises it brings improvements in engine, aerodynamics and vehicle dynamics compared to the standard F12 Berlinetta.
At the heart is the 6262cc V12 engine which packs in all that power which we told you earlier and develops a massive 705Nm of torque at 6750rpm. All that power is channeled to the wheels through a tweaked version of the F1 DCT gearbox that now has 6% shorter gear ratios and offers 30% faster upshifts and 40% faster downshifts.
Well, all the tweaks that Ferrari has promised has had a significant effect on the performance of the F12tdf. It can sprint from 0-100km/h in 2.9 seconds and 0-200km/h takes just 7.9 seconds. Top speed has been rated at 340 km/h and Ferrari's test drivers have already put the car through its paces at Fiorano and managed to lap the track in only 1 minute and 21 seconds.

Just to give you a perspective, the Ferrari La Ferrari has gone on the same track in 1 minute 19 seconds which is the track record. On the same track the F12 Berlinetta has been timed at 1 minute 23 seconds, which means that with all the improvements and the additional 39bhp, Ferrari has been able to cut 2 seconds and inch closer to the lap record holder.
Other changes include a front tire size increase from 255 to 275 along with an active rear axle known as Virtual Short Wheelbase which enables the wheels to pivot around a vertical axis. It uses a module-based control logic to automatically adjust the rear axle steering depending on the vehicle's speed, steering wheel angle and speed of steering.
The engineers at Ferrari have worked a lot on the aerodynamics of the car and the body changes have improved the car's aerodynamic efficiency by almost 100% compared to the regular F12 Berlinetta. At 200 km/h, the F12tdf generates a massive 230 kg, 107 kg more than the regular F12.

To achieve this feat, Ferrari engineers have installed a different rear diffuser, new rear spoiler (60 mm longer and 30 mm higher than before), along with a more inclined rear window and a revised concave structure of the trunk. Pricing details haven't been revealed yet but certainly pockets have to be deep enough to afford this limited edition model.
