No one wants to make a wrong decision by making a rash choice. As the saying goes, hurry spoils curry, do your research before buying the car. A shining new dashboard, smooth drives, new upholstery, the sparkling scratch-less paint excite us. The endless trials of paperwork, registration, insurance, EMI can be overwhelming but are crucial for a worry-free life. Here are five things that one must check before buying a car.
Make Sure To Have All The Important Documents Ready
After buying a car, the first thing that one should do is register it as soon as possible at the nearest RTO. You will need to pay vehicle tax at the time of registration. While registering, you need to have the following documents.

Finalize Your Budget Before Buying The Car
Buying a car is a big decision and should be made, considering your financial condition. The showroom price is less than the on-road price, so think wisely; if you can afford the final price. Do your math and visit as many showrooms as you can. You can also take a car loan, and most of the banks charge an interest rate of 7%. However, always remember the thumb rule; one should never spend more than half of their annual income to buy a car.
Do A Test Drive Before Buying The Car
All the showrooms offer a test drive feature; always utilize it. Driving the car on the road will provide you with the experience, and you can check whether or not you are comfortable with the car's functionality and mechanisms. Try to drive the car on the regular routes you intend to drive and park where you will park it after buying. Also, sit at the seats to check if the leg, shoulder, and headroom are enough. Take along your family and see if all the members are comfortable or not.
Choose A Car According To Your Family Size
Choosing the apt car type can entirely be a hectic task but not impossible. First, the car type should be based on your driving skill. If you like to go at speed, you probably should be buying an SUV, but if you like to drive slow, you can buy any basic car—also, the size of your family matters. If you have a small family, don't waste your money buying a large eight-seater car; instead, buy a four-seater car or vice versa. These will help you narrow down your ideal car type.

Check The Engine And Safety Features
Safety is mandatory, and there should be no room for negotiating it. The safety feature is crucial to look at before buying a car. As of October 2019, as a part of standard equipment, the Indian Government has mandated all cars to have dual airbags, ABS, and reverse parking sensors. Additional safety features like Electronic Stability Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, and Power Steering should be preferred among the masses. Also, engines play a major role in determining a car's efficiency. Different cars have different acceleration capacities, and one should always go for the engine capacity according to their skill.
