Force Motor to set up an engine plant in Tamil Nadu

The home-grown automobile manufacturer Force Motors Ltd will set up a manufacturing plant at Chengalpet in Tamil Nadu to manufacture engines and other components. A decision to this effect was taken at the company's board meeting which was held in Pune. The company will invest about Rs 100 crore to set up this plant.
"...the Board of Directors of the Company at its meeting held on April 29, has decided and approved, subject to receipt of necessary permissions, approvals, sanctions, to establish a manufacturing facility at Village Anjur, Chengalpet, Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu to manufacture and assemble engine-gearbox for automobiles", the company said in a filing to stock exchanges.
"...the decision was subject to receipt of necessary approvals from the Statutory authorities and subject to the contracts with other contracting parties", it said.
Force Motors manufactures a range of small commercial vehicles, light commercial vehicles, multi-utility vehicles, sports utility vehicles and tractors.
