Ford Mustang Will Be Showcased at Upcoming Auto Expo; 2016 Launch Expected

Our sources have confirmed that the iconic Ford Mustang will in fact be showcased at the upcoming Delhi Auto Expo set to be held in February 2016. Although unconfirmed, the car is expected to go on sale in India in March.
The India-spec version of the Mustang is expected to arrive with limited powertrain options. Although sold internationally with a spread of 4 lightweight aluminium engine options including those found on Shelby variants, India is likely to get either the 2.3-litre EcoBoost or 5.0-litre V8 engine. The 3.7-litre V6 could also be offered but reports have suggested otherwise. The engines will come mated to either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed autobox with paddle shifters. Power outputs of the engines stand at 310bhp and 434Nm of torque for the 2.3-litre EcoBoost, 300bhp and 380Nm for the 3.7-litre V6, and 435bhp and 542Nm for the 5.0-litre V8. The Shelby 350 and Shelby 350R variants, which feature a 5.2-litre V8 engine, are unlikely to be offered in India.
