After a day's pause, the state-owned oil marketing companies (OMCs) on Sunday have increased fuel rates across the country. According to Indian Oil Corporation, petrol became costlier by 27 paise from Rs. 94.76 per litre to Rs. 95.03 per litre, while diesel prices soared by 29 paise from Rs. 85.66 per litre to Rs. 85.95 per litre in the national capital. In Mumbai, petrol has breached Rs. 101 per litre mark, currently standing at Rs. 101.25 per litre, after a hike of 27 paise, whereas diesel rates have gone up to Rs. 93.30 per litre, receiving a hike of 31 paise.

In Rajasthan's Sri Ganganagar district, petrol has touched new highs of Rs. 106.08 a litre, while diesel is priced at Rs. 98.94 per litre.

Here are the petrol and diesel prices across five major metros on June 6, 2021:

Fuel prices are currently at record highs across the country. Other metro cities too witnessed a similar hike in fuel rates. In Kolkata, petrol is priced at Rs. 95.02 per litre, while diesel costs Rs. 88.80 per litre. Prices of the two auto fuels in Chennai now stand at Rs. 96.47 per litre and Rs. 90.66 per litre. Petrol and diesel prices in Bengaluru have reached Rs. 98.20 per litre and Rs. 91.12 per litre, respectively.

In Rajasthan's Sri Ganganagar district, petrol has touched new highs of Rs. 106.08 a litre, while diesel is priced at Rs. 98.94 per litre. In Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh, petrol retails at Rs. 105.38 a litre whereas diesel costs Rs. 96.55 a litre. Other regions where petrol and diesel rates have already crossed the Rs. 100 and Rs. 90 per litre mark, respectively, include - Nagpur, Thane, Pune, Navi Mumbai, Anuppur, Jaisalmer, Banswara, Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior, Ratnagiri, Aurangabad, Kolhapur, Nashik, and Parbhani. After Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, petrol has already breached Rs. 100 per litre mark in Leh, almost all districts of Andhra Pradesh and parts of Telangana.
