Honda Teases New Compact SUV For Indonesia, Debut On November 11

- The Honda ZR-V could be the name of the subcompact SUV
- Honda will position the ZR-V below the new BR-V
- Honda is yet to confirm if the model will come to India
Honda Indonesia is rapidly expanding its SUV portfolio and the company will be unveiling an all-new subcompact SUV later this week. The company has put out a teaser for a new compact SUV that will be unveiled at the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) scheduled on November 11, 2021. The new offering will reportedly be called the Honda ZR-V and is expected to be a trendy offering positioned below the recently launched new generation BR-V in the market.

The new ZR-V will be placed below the BR-V and will be a five-seater
The silhouette lets out little on what we can expect from the offering. We do expect to see familiar Honda design language with an upright front grille, the big H in the centre and LED headlamps with LED DRLs. The teaser also promises a raked rear windscreen and LED taillights with a signature pattern. Reports suggest that Honda could bring a performance friendly RS model as well for Indonesia on the same lines as the Civic RS.
Little is known about the engine options and transmission choices on the upcoming Honda ZR-V. The model could get the 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine with manual and CVT gearbox options. It's unclear at the moment if Honda India plans to bring the model here in the future. Given how popular the subcompact SUV segment is at large, we do hope Honda considers the same. More details will be available as GIIAS, so make sure to keep watching this space for all the action.
