A map or GPS
Use your smartphone for roadside assistance. When scanning the routes, Google Maps can be your best travel partner. It has satellite imagery and a street map view to help you navigate the roads. It can help you whether you are on a car, train, or foot. You will also be able to see the estimated time and distance to your destination. If you are a bit old-school, you can take an actual paper map.
Medications
Ensure that you take your prescription and anti-allergic medications with you. It would be best to keep some pain relievers with you during your road trip.
Portable Chargers
It is very frustrating when you are out and your mobile phone's battery dies. Take a portable charger with you when you are out and about. It is especially important if you use your smartphone as a GPS. It will also be helpful if you are driving to remote places where it is difficult to find a charging port.
Sun Protection
Take sunglasses, sunscreen, and a long-sleeved shirt with you. It will help to keep you safe from the sun.
An Itinerary
While it can be fun to wander around, it is better to have a plan in place. Pre-plan your stoppages and stay on track. You can plan some stops at breakfast, lunch, or dinner times and avoid being late at your destination if you have a set itinerary.
Safety Gear
Keep a coronavirus kit with you inside your car. Take travelling toiletries, sanitizers, wet wipes, laundry bags, face masks, and face shields with you. Store everything in a plastic bag or container. You can also take some disposable gloves with you, along with disinfectants.
Ensure that you pre-check the restrictions, if any, on the places you will be travelling to. Take your test results with you if you have recently tested negative for the coronavirus.

Emergency Kit
Take some batteries, antifreeze, a flashlight, a tyre inflator, and an umbrella with you. If you cannot prepare a kit yourself, you can buy one from the car shops. It will contain all the basic and necessary items for safety and emergencies.
