Hyundai Creta Receives Over 1 Lakh Bookings in 8 Months

Commenting on the milestone, YK Koo, Managing Director & CEO, HMIL said, "We thank our customers for the tremendous response with the record fastest 1 lakh bookings in 8 months. Like in the domestic market, Creta has generated great response in Global markets with more than 28,000 orders."
The Creta has received a similar response even in global markets such as Latin America (Colombia, Costa Rica, Peru and Panama), Middle East (Oman, UAE, Saudi) and Africa (Egypt, Morocco and Nigeria). But the increase in demand means that Hyundai will have to take certain measures in addressing the waiting period on the car and it has. The company has decided to increase the production of the Creta by 30 per cent taking the total production to 13,000 units out of which 10,000 units will be allocated for the domestic market.
Hyundai has made the Creta available in three engine options - 1.6 Gamma Dual VTVT, 1.6 U2 CRDi VGT, 1.4 U2 CRDi and there is also an Automatic variant on offer. But Hyundai is not the only manufacturer who has seen a surge in demand. Its arch rival, Maruti Suzuki too recently announced that its premium hatchback, Baleno, has received 1 lakh bookings and the company is still playing catch with the demands. The waiting on the Baleno currently is 6 months and the company has plans to expand production capacity. In fact with the new Vitara Brezza out, it will be interesting to see how the company juggles with the demand for the car.
