Hyundai i20 N Line Unveiled In India

- The Hyundai i20 N Line will be offered in three variants - N6 iMT, N8 iMT
- It marks the entry-point of Hyundai's N Line division in India.
- The cosmetic updates make it look sportier inside out, but engine is same
At a time when SUVs are ruling the roost, a hot hatch clicks even better with driving enthusiasts. And well! That's exactly what Hyundai's intention is with the i20 N Line. So the much anticipated Hyundai i20 N Line has been finally unveiled and it looks quite sexy indeed. It marks the entry-point of Hyundai's N Line division in India and is being offered only on the range-topping 1.0-litre GDI Turbo iMT and DCT iteration.

The Hyundai i20 N Line will come in 6 body colour options, including 2 dual-tone paint schemes
For your perspective, the 'N Line' to Hyundai is exactly what the 'AMG Line' is to Mercedes globally. But India does not get the full-blown 'N' cars with punchier and performance-oriented engines. Updates are therefore limited to cosmetic modifications giving it a racy and sporty demeanor. So the front end gets a new cascading grille with matte black elements and the N Line logo. Then the aesthetics are underlined by a new, more muscular front bumper with sharp lines and edges going with its sporty look. And there are sportier alloy wheels and sleek side skirts as well complementing the diffuser on the front bumper. Dimension-wise, the i20 N Line will remain identical to the regular i20. The overall length remains at 3995 mm, a width of 1775 mm, and a height of 1505 mm. The wheelbase of the car will stand unchanged at 2580 mm.

Other features include - 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, emergency stop light, ISOFIX, rear parking camera with sensors, seatbelt reminder and more.

The Hyundai i20 N Line is powered by the same 1.0-litre, three-cylinder GDi turbo petrol engine
The Hyundai i20 N Line is powered by the same 1.0-litre, three-cylinder GDi turbo petrol engine tuned to churn out 118 bhp at 6000 rpm and 172 Nm at 1500 - 4 000 rpm. As already mentioned, transmission options will include a six-speed Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT) and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). The DCT version goes from 0-100 kmph in 9.9 seconds. Hyundai also says that the steering geometry has been recalibrated to weigh up more at higher speeds and the suspension setup has been tuned for 30 per cent more damping.
