  • 1768 cc, v-twin PowerPlus engine to be shared with Challenger
  • New Indian Pursuit to be unveiled soon, as brand new model

Indian Motorcycle is expected to introduce a new touring model for 2022, which will be called the Indian Pursuit. The new Indian Pursuit will be offered in Limited and Dark Horse variants, with an optional Premium Package, and will be powered by the same liquid-cooled PowerPlus engine introduced in the Indian Challenger. Indian Motorcycle has submitted Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) data to the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which confirms that the new Indian Pursuit will definitely use the 1768 cc v-twin PowerPlus engine.

The new Indian Pursuit will have the tallest windscreen on any current Indian model with a batwing fairing.

The VIN document confirms the same 122 bhp PowerPlus engine to be used on the Pursuit, and shared with the Indian Challenger. The same engine will be used in both the Limited and Dark Horse variants, but so far, there's no clear image or rendition to show what the Pursuit will look like. Patent filings show a motorcycle with the PowerPlus engine and a fork mounted fairing, as well as a tall windscreen and lower part of the fairing. The illustrations are just basic sketches and the patent filings are in relation with the air intake system, so these don't show the actual design of final shape of the motorcycle.

New Indian Pursuit will share the 1768 cc v-twin, PowerPlus engine with the Challenger.

What is almost certain is that the Indian Pursuit will be positioned as a touring model, with the high windscreen, so it's highly likely that it will come with standard panniers. The windscreen is also quite large, and is, in fact, taller than the screens on any current Indian with a batwing fairing. Indian Motorcycle has already unveiled a limited edition Jack Daniel's model of the Challenger, so the new Indian Pursuit should be unveiled very soon.
