Kia Zooms To Seventh Spot On Debut; Ahead Of Established Rivals

Kia Motors India is the newest player in the Indian car market and it sure has taken the scene by storm. With just 1 car in its product portfolio, Kia managed to breach the top 10 manufacturers in August 2019. Kia was placed 7th beating established players like Renault, Ford, Volkswagen, Nissan, Skoda and even MG Motor India. The Kia Seltos sold 6200 units in August 2019 and surpassed nearly all its rivals in the compact SUV segment. While the model garnered over 32,000 bookings at the time of launch, that number has now crossed the 35000 mark, because of which the company is now looking to push more cars out of its Anatapura facility and will soon start a second shift. Having sold 6200 units in August 2019, Kia has become the seventh largest automaker in the country behind Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Mahindra, Toyota, Honda and Tata Motors.
