Kia Seltos Crosses 3 Lakh Sales Milestone In Less Than Three Years

- The Kia Seltos is the bestselling model for the Korean brand in India.
- It contributes around 60 per cent to Kia India's overall sales.
- Almost 58 per cent of Kia Seltos' sales is attributed to top-end variants.
The Kia Seltos has been one of the bestselling SUVs in India right from the beginning and the compact SUV has now crossed the 3 lakh sales milestone in our market in less than years of it being launch in India. The Kia Seltos went on sale in India in 2019 and has been the bestselling model for the Korean brand since then commanding 60 per cent of its sales volume, thus making Kia India one of the fastest growing car brands in our market. Kia India also gave the Seltos a subtle makeover and features update last year in a bid to keep the model fresh for the competition. The carmaker has also exported 1,03,033 units of the Seltos from India besides achieving the 3 lakh sales mark in the domestic market.
Myung-sik Sohn, Chief Sales Officer, Kia India, "Being our first product in India, the Seltos has played a pivotal role in charting Kia's success story here. With Seltos, Kia India was able to establish itself as a true disruptor and was able to cement its position in country's top 5 car manufacturers within just two months of commencement of sales in the country. With Seltos, we wanted to offer a world class product that addressed the unmet needs of Indian customers, and the great response we've received is a testimony to the fact that we have achieved what we initially set out for. We are happy to see today that, Seltos has made its mark not only in its segment but on the overall Indian auto industry; it is amongst the most sought-after cars by the new age Indian customers. Very recently, we introduced six airbags as standard on the Seltos, which was yet again a segment first offering. With such regular updates in our products, and a strong customer centric approach, we are very optimistic about continuing our growth momentum and emerge as a much stronger brand in the days to come."
Kia India also recently crossed the 5 lakh sales milestone in the country. As far as Seltos' sales go, 58 per cent sales were attributed to the top variants while the automatic options of the vehicle contribute to around 25 per cent. Petrol variants of the Seltos contribute 54 per cent to its overall sales while 46 per cent is attributed to diesel variants. Moreover, white is the most preferred body colour option for the Seltos. Kia India will be celebrating its three-years anniversary in our market on August 22. Kia has also unveiled the Seltos facelift in the global markets and it is expected to arrive at our shores next year.
