Lamborghini Urus SUV Coming to India in 2018

Since it will be an SUV, there are reports coming in that it would be the fastest and most powerful SUV in the world but the details of the car are not yet out and none of the company's executives are willing to speak out on it. The only thing that has been shared is that the company will launch the SUV in 2018 and will construct a separate facility altogether to build the SUV. The factory will be close to the current Sant'Agata Bolognese facility and will see an investment of more than 400 million.
The new SUV plant means that Lamborghini will also hire 500 more people and this is a big expansion for the company. India too will get a taste of the Urus SUV and when we spoke to the President and CEO, Lamborghini, Stephan Winkelmann, he said, "India is a big market for us and we have seen growth there. The Huracan and the Aventador have been well received and we will bring the Urus to India after its launch in 2018"
The biggest market, however, will be America, followed by China and Lamborghini is bullish on this front. Currently, Lamborghini has 135 dealerships across 50 countries and India accounts for 3 of them but there is an expansion plan in the process. Winkelmann said, "We have said that we will expand our production volume to cater to the demand and we are in the process of doing so, how soon it will happen, I cannot tell."
The Urus is a big project for Lamborghini and it is a domain they've been introduced to thanks to the LM001 and LM002, however, things are different now and the new car is all about keeping the Lamborghini DNA intact. Will it be able to do so? Only time will tell.
